  64.     The purpose of this program is to make it easy for anyone to distribute 
  65.     their genealogy tree on the internet. Simply click once - and your tree 
  66.     will be presented in nice, graphical web-pages, including any pictures 
  67.     and additional information you have supplied.

  73.     The tree editor is very easy to use. Just right-click anywhere, and you 
  74.     will get a menu of the most common tasks. You can zoom in and out of your 
  75.     tree, navigate, create items, connect children to their parents and much 
  76.     more, using only your mouse.

  87.     * Hand-cursor dragging: Click Alt + your left mouse-button, and drag the
  88.       tree canvas to any direction.

  91.       mark the area you want to zoom in to. You can also zoom in/out by clicking
  92.       Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+X.

  126.       count in the "alias" as well.

  139.       frames and contents.

  141.     * Up to 40% "faster" HTML pages:
  142.       The new way GenDesigner creates pages actually saves disk space AND makes 
  143.       your genealogy pages a lot faster to load from the internet. The secret is 
  144.       GIF boxes instead of JPEG.

  147.       Now GenDesigner can be used to create HTML pages all over the world, just
  148.       choose your country and go ahead.

  164.     * After the first BETA version of 2.0 with "full" GEDCOM import I eventually 
  165.       realized that I had to redo the whole GEDCOM compability code. Thanks to
  166.       a panel of smart BETA testers I have now figured out how to create the
  167.       GEDCOM features without using a lot of RAM and computer resources.
  168.       
  169.       Since so many of you anxiously have waited for this version, I decided to 
  170.       release a working version for you. So I removed all the stuff that
  171.       didn't work properly, just give me some time to redo it.
  172.  
  173.       With this BETA you are able to import GEDCOM files, but it only supports 
  174.       ordinary tags like name, birth, death, occupation, marriage and 
  175.       source/reference codes.

  206. > Known disadvantages in 2.0 BETA:

  208.      * Trees containing a large number of persons will slow down your computer.
  209.        This depends on your computer RAM and CPU speed.
  210.  
  211.      * GenDesigner is unable to read certain GEDCOM files. This will be improved
  212.        for the next version. (TIP: You could try importing extracts from different 
  213.        applications) 
  214.  
  215.      * The auto-organization of items after an import does not always look 
  216.        good. Some trees will need manual adjustments.

  220. 5 - REGISTERING INFORMATION

  223. Shareware means you get a chance to "try before you buy". If you continue to use 
  224. the unregistered shareware version of GenDesigner, you must register it. 
  225.  
  226. The registration fee is US$ 29.99 for a single user license. Registered users 
  227. are entitled to FREE upgrades for one year by downloading the latest versions. 
  228.  
  229. When you have registered GenDesigner, you may use the registered version freely 
  230. on one computer. You may not distribute the registered version of the software 
  231. nor the authorization key to any other third party. If you wish to use several 
  232. copies, you will need to either register each copy, or obtain a multi-user 
  233. license (see below).  
  234.  
  235. How to register: Please complete the registration form provided with the 
  236. shareware, send the form to the author by mail or email and pay the registration 
  237. fee. You will receive an authorization key by mail or email shortly after payment 
  238. has been executed. Expect to get the registration key 5-15 days from date of 
  239. order, depending on the mail / air mail handling. If you use email, the 
  240. registration process will be faster.

  242. NOTE: The registration payment method will hopefully be changed to a more convenient 
  243. way for international citizens within short time. Please sign up to the GenDesigner 
  244. mailing list from the GenDesigner home page to receive more info about this progress.

  246. A multi-user license is required by an organization, company or government agency 
  247. to use GenDesigner. To use GenDesigner within your organization, company, 
  248. educational or government agency, please contact email to
